Environment needs LIFE for the next 25 years
In the context of the project LIFE Capacity Building Slovenia the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning is organising the LIFE international networking conference entitled “Environment needs LIFE for the next 25 years”, which will take place 25 th and 26 th May 2017 in European Union House, Ljubljana, Slovenia and at Škocjanski zatok Natural Reserve, Koper, Slovenia.
Since the conference is aiming to create international partnerships for the future LIFE projects, you are warmly invited to attend the conference. The Ministry kindly asks all participants to fill in its form about their participation at the latest by Monday, 15 May 2017.
The conference will celebrate 25th Anniversary of the LIFE programme and the Habitats Directive. It will enable creating new international partnerships for the future LIFE projects and more effective implementation of EU environmental policies for the next 25 years.
The Ministry is expecting attendees from European Union countries; therefore English translation will be available. First day (25th May 2017) there will be a networking event at European Union House in Ljubljana with the following programme:
- Quarter of Century of LIFE environmental effects – a review of the impact of the LIFE programme on the state of the environment in EU
- Project café – place for networking of project partners
- Round-table discussion “Europe needs LIFE for the next 25 years”
- First Aid for applicants and beneficiaries of LIFE projects
For the second day (26th May 2017) a field trip to Škocjanski zatok Nature Reserve, an example of Slovenian LIFE best practice is foreseen.
