Representation of Greece to EU countries networking workshop for the LIFE Programme in Budapest
The workshop of 17 EU countries for the LIFE Capacity Building Programme was held on November 22nd and 23rd, in Budapest, at the Ministry of Agriculture. Specifically, Germany, France and Italy presented experiences of best practices in LIFE, while 14 countries-beneficiaries of Capacity Building projects presented the evolution of their actions. Greece was represented by the Communication and the Environmental Officers of the Greek LIFE Task Force, Kellie Koligiorga and Dimitris Homatidis.
Moreover, the workshop was attended by officers of the European Commission, Christian Strasser (DG Environment) and Michel Quicheron (Executive Agency for SMEs-EASME). In addition, two financial instruments were presented by the European Investment Bank: Natural Capital Financing Facility (NCFF) for nature and biodiversity projects and Private Finance for Energy Efficiency (PF4EE) for energy efficiency investments. Finally, the participating countries took part in thematic seminars regarding various economic capacity building project issues, the dissemination of information, the transnational cooperation opportunities through LIFE, the progress of the LIFE staff and the enhancement of applicants’ knowledge.
