22nd Conference of the Parties (COP22) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
The annual Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC takes place this year in Marrakech, Morocco from 7th to 18th November. In the conference, nations of the world continue their work on strengthening the global response to the threat of climate change. To this objective, central focus is placed on enhancing ambition, promoting implementation and providing support. The Marrakech COP 22 marks a landmark, as it is the first time that a Conference of the Parties serves as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA), since the latter has entered into force on the 4th of November 2016.
Dimitris Niavis, who is the LIFE National Contact Point for climate change, is part of the team participating in the Greek representation in Morocco.
