Dimitris Banousis is an environmental policy consultant specialized in terrestrial and maritime spatial planning. He has worked with Local Government and Civil Society entities on designing, implementing and monitoring national and EU funded environmental projects. He is a graduate engineer in Spatial and Urban Planning and Regional Development, a holder of the Master's Degree in Environmental Governance and Sustainable Development (Jean Monnet Programme) and a PhD (c) of the Panteion University's Department of International and Regional Studies. He is a researcher at the European Center for Environmental Research and Training.

Giorgos Protopapas - National Contact Point LIFE/Environment - GR LTF Project Manager plus

Georgios Protopapas is an Architect (March DESA), graduate of the Ecole Spéciale d 'Architecture-Paris, 1982, with postgraduate studies (DEA) in Urban and Regional Planning/Geography-Development, University of Paris IV- Sorbonne-Paris, 1983. Since 1986, he has been working in the Greek Ministry of Environment (Ministry of Environment & Energy). Since 2010 he has been the national representative in the LIFE program, the financial instrument of the European Union for the environment, as a Committee Member & Focal Point. Since 2012 he has been working in the Green Fund of Greece. The Green Fund finances programs which aim accordance the protection, upgrade and restoration of the environment.

Chariklia Kloukinioti - National Contact Point LIFE/Clima

Chariklia Kloukinioti, is a Public Officer of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, currently working as an Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy of the Hellenic Republic on climate change, atmospheric pollution, noise abatement and European and International Environmental Relations. For two years, she has worked as an Advisor to the Secretary General for Natural Environment and Water of the Ministry of Environment and Energy. Before that, she has worked for 16.5 years at ATTIKO METRO S.A., responsible for the planning and construction of the underground railways of Athens and Thessaloniki. There she was responsible for environmental permitting and environmental monitoring during construction of the projects of the company.

She has also worked as an EIA Consultant for the Public Power Corporation S.A., with two project contracts for the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment reports for the upgrade of 2 power generation stations of the Greek Islands of Kos and Paros. Finally, she has extensive experience as an independent consultant in a number of private sector consultancy companies. She has a B.Eng. in Planning and Regional Development from the University of Thessaly and an MSc. in Sustainability, Planning and Environmental Policy from the University of Wales, Cardiff.

Stelios Alifantis - National Contact Point LIFE/Clean Energy Transition

Stelios Alifantis - National Contact Point LIFE/Clean Energy Transition

Dr Stelios Alifantis earned his PhD in International Relations with distinction at Panteion University for Social & Political Studies (1987). In 2000-2001 he undertook post-doctoral sabbatical research on “Low Intensity Crisis Management” as Visiting Senior Research Associate in London and Aberdeen Universities. He is the author of six books and over seventy publications.

Following academic career, he has taught in the fields of International Relations, Greek Foreign & Security Policy, Crisis Management, and Area Studies at Panteion University (1988-2004), at University of the Aegean and Piraeus University (2004-2007), as well as at other Greek institutions as visiting Professor for several years, like the Naval Academy (SND), the Naval War College (NSP), the Hellenic National Defence College (HNDC), the Strategic Intelligence School (SPP), National Center of Public Administration.

His research interests include International Relations, Crisis Management, Conflict Analysis, International Politics History, International Energy Relations, Area Studies and "Serious Games” & Simulations, where he designed and run a series of simulation and "serious gaming" seminars and applications in academic institutions. Since 2014 he is engaged in historical research on pre-revolutionary J. Capodistrias, 1800-1821, presented the research findings in three academic conferences and published two books on this subject.

He also served as Special Advisor to the Minister for Foreign & Security Policy and also as the Scientific Committee Member and Head of Minister’s Crisis Management Committee (2000-2001) at the Ministry for Defense (1997-2001) and as Special Advisor to the Minister for International Energy Relations at the Ministry for Development (2001-2004).

Since 2004, he joined the Civil Service in Energy sector (currently Ministry for Environment & Energy) as Head of Department of “International Relations Dept” (2009-2014) and later of “Energy Planning Dept” (2015-today) at the Ministry of Environment & Energy. In the period 2009-2014 he was a Member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic National Natural Gas System (DESFA) S.A. He is currently National Contact Point / Clean Energy Transition for Life.

He participated in various international and Greek academic bodies.
